Wishly (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) provides wishlist functionality for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and handled when merchants install Wishly and when shoppers interact with wishlist features on a store that uses the App.

This policy applies to Shopify merchants who install Wishly and to end customers who use storefront features powered by the App.

1. Information We Collect

From Shopify Merchants

When a merchant installs Wishly, we may collect and store:

• Store URL
  
• Product data
  
• Shopify customer IDs
  

We do not store customer names or email addresses.

From Store Shoppers

When shoppers interact with wishlist features, we may collect:

• Shopify customer ID (for logged-in users)
  
• Wishlist data such as saved products
  
• Guest wishlist data stored in browser storage and in our database for syncing after login
  
• Device type, browser type, and operating system for debugging and performance monitoring

   

2. Guest Users

If a shopper is not logged in, Wishly may store wishlist data locally in the browser and in our systems. When the shopper later signs in, this information may be associated with their Shopify customer ID to restore their saved items.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect only to:

• Provide wishlist functionality
  
• Display saved products to shoppers
  
• Sync guest wishlists after login
  
• Show basic insights to merchants in the admin area
  
• Maintain and troubleshoot the App
  
• Improve reliability and performance
  

We do not send marketing emails or notifications.

4. Analytics and Tracking

Wishly does not currently use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or LogRocket.

We do not currently track wishlist actions for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Communications

Wishly does not send emails, alerts, or notifications to shoppers or merchants.

We do not display in-app marketing messages.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data with advertising networks, marketing platforms, CRM systems, or email providers.

Information may be disclosed only when required to operate the App, comply with legal obligations, or respond to lawful requests.

7. Storefront Integration

Wishly integrates with Shopify using theme app embeds and storefront blocks. We do not directly modify merchant theme code.

8. Data Hosting

Wishly is hosted on DigitalOcean servers.

Information may be processed and stored on infrastructure used to operate the App.

9. Data Retention

When a merchant uninstalls Wishly, store and shopper data is not automatically deleted at this time.

We are evaluating automated deletion processes for future releases.

10. Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect data handled by the App.

However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and merchants use the App at their own discretion.

11. Children’s Privacy

Wishly is intended for general audiences and is not designed specifically for children under the age of 13.

12. Compliance

Wishly follows Shopify Partner Program requirements and applicable data-protection laws where required.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be published within the App or on the Shopify App Store listing.
